We propagate the plants we sell in our on-site micro nursery straight from the garden - either the ground or ponds.
By the time we open our doors to the general public on April 1st the plants are fully settled into their pots and happily growing, ready to be sold and planted in your garden!
...from root to shoot...
It's a process we undertake every year. Stuart heads into the garden in February, heads to an area of bare earth or decomposing vegetation and digs up some roots, tubers or bulbs. He heads down to the polytunnel where he pots them up and ticks a name off his list. Then off he goes back into the garden. A couple of weeks later we have several hundred pots lined up, ready for Spring to do its thing. By the end of March they are greening up and ready to be labelled and taken up to be displayed for sale.
When they're gone, they're gone - until the following year!
